Each year the company my husband works for will partner with Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a local family.
This is dear to my heart because as a teenager, my family and I volunteered to help with the building of another family’s home, while another group of volunteers would help to build ours.
As we stood outside the newly built home and listened to the stories of how contractors and volunteers showed up weekly, to lay the foundation, put up the drywall, and put on the roof, I remembered my husband’s expression of gratitude for the good weather the Lord permitted in order for them to meet their deadline.
“Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor in vain.” Psalm 127:1
Though all the workers showed up, the completion of the home depended solely upon the Lord.
It is the Lord who gives us both the wisdom and the strength to complete a task.
Isn’t it wonderful that we don’t have to depend on our own ability but we can depend on our Faithful Father!
