Books I Read In 2018 (Non-Fiction and the Bible)

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it, it’s already the 3rd week of January! I hope 2018 was great and that 2019 will be even greater!

So, I wanted to share with you books I read in 2018. Though our family was in a bit of transition, I am thankful to have found time to do one of the things I most enjoy.

I also would love to know what you read in 2018 or what you plan on reading this year. I prefer non-fiction, however, if there is a fiction book that you loved, and you think I’d also enjoy, please share.

Before I share the list, just a few more things… Most of the books I purchase are from or Lifeway, and so you know, Lifeway matches its competitor’s prices. #winning

Some of you may not have much time to sit and read an actual book, no worries. I dab a little with audiobooks as well. I use Hoopla for both, ebooks and audiobooks and the best part, it’s FREE! Check with your local library to see if Hoopla is a resource they offer and if so, you can download the app for free also.

Now that’s settled…

Books and Ebooks:

Books of the Bible:

  • Genesis
  • Exodus
  • Leviticus
  • Numbers
  • Deuteronomy
  • Joshua
  • Judges
  • Ruth
  • 1 and 2 Samuel
  • 1 and 2 Kings
  • 1 and 2 Chronicles
  • Job
  • Psalms
  • Proverbs
  • Ecclesiastes
  • Song of Solomon
  • Hosea
  • Matthew
  • Ephesians
  • James

Of all of the books I read last year and previous years, the Bible is still my absolute favorite! There is not a single book on any shelf that can substitute it.

One last thing, I need your help. I have yet to make my reading list for this year and would greatly appreciate it if you would make suggestions in the comments.

Thank you!!

  1. Hey Chrystal

    My plan is to read:
    1. Fervent by Priscilla Shirer
    2. Do More Better: A Practical Guide to Productivity by Tim Challies
    3. In the Grip of Grace by Max Lucado
    4. Fresh Air by Chris Hodges

    • Thank you sharing, Nicole. I read Fervent a few years back, it was a game changer for my prayer life. I’ve heard good things about Chris Hodges but have never read any of his books. I’ll definitely look into the others. Thanks again and happy reading! 😊

  2. Awesome progress on reading the Bible! I have also been reading the OT from scratch, but I’ve only made it to Judges so far. I read The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis last year, and it’s one of my favorite books now, so you might enjoy that!
