This week my kids were on fall break. I had great plans for myself, I was going to get much done… do a little fall cleaning, schedule several blog posts, get some well needed rest, as well as tackle my lesson planning for the upcoming weeks.
Overzealous… I know.
My actual week… I ran errands –– grocery shopping, laundry, ortho appointment, dog vaccinations and the list goes on. #mom life
The highlight of my week was a trip to Detroit to visit the Motown Museum. My husband and I thought it would be great to familiarize our children before we arrived, so we turned the music up and jammed to Stevie, The Temptations and a The Jackson 5.
Enough about my week… I hope your week was awesome and your weekend is even more awesome-r 🙂
It’s Friday and that means Five Minute Friday! This week’s prompt is: WHO
“I knew who I didn’t want to be but I didn’t know who I wanted to be” Lecrae
These words resonated with me. As a young girl growing up in public housing, I saw many different things.
Some good and some bad.
One of the things I remember were the drugs, those who sold them and those who used them. I knew I didn’t want to be either but I struggled with who I was and where I fit in.
Who am I, is a question we all have asked ourselves and if we’re honest, it may even be a question we’re asking ourselves now. Some may quickly be able to respond, while others may hesitate.
I believe as we read the Bible we become more familiar with who God says we are. Isn’t that wonderful?!
We are a child of God – John 1:12
We are victorious – 1 Corinthians 15:5
We are loved – John 3:16
We are a new creation in Christ- 2 Corinthians 5:17
ps… I really need more time 🙂
