WHO

This week my kids were on fall break.  I had great plans for myself, I was going to get much done… do a little fall cleaning, schedule several blog posts, get some well needed rest, as well as tackle my lesson planning for the upcoming weeks.

Overzealous… I know.

My actual week… I ran errands –– grocery shopping,  laundry, ortho appointment, dog vaccinations and the list goes on.  #mom life

The highlight of my week was a trip to Detroit to visit the Motown Museum.  My husband and I thought it would be great to familiarize our children before we arrived, so we turned the music up and jammed to Stevie, The Temptations and a  The Jackson 5.

Enough about my week… I hope your week was awesome and your weekend is even more awesome-r 🙂

It’s Friday and that means Five Minute Friday!  This week’s prompt is: WHO

“I knew who I didn’t want to be but I didn’t know who I wanted to be” Lecrae

These words resonated with me.   As a young girl growing up in public housing, I saw many different things.

Some good and some bad.

One of the things I remember were the drugs, those who sold them and those who used them.   I knew I didn’t want to be either but I struggled with who I was and where I fit in.

Who am I,  is a question we all have asked ourselves and if we’re honest, it may even be a question we’re asking ourselves now.  Some may quickly be able to respond, while others may hesitate.

I believe as we read the Bible we become more familiar with who God says we are.  Isn’t that wonderful?!

We are a child of God – John 1:12

We are victorious – 1 Corinthians 15:5

We are loved – John 3:16

We are a new creation in Christ- 2 Corinthians 5:17

ps… I really need more time 🙂

  1. It’s amazing how our wish-list looks nothing like the actually-accomplished list, isn’t it? Ha! I’d say getting to visit the Motown museum is a huge win, though!
How beautiful that God knows our deepest need is to know who we are and why we exist, so he jams His word packed with those truths.
Thank you for sharing. I’m #35 this week at FMF.

    • That’s funny isn’t it?! I was so sure I’d be able to get those things. Motown was a huge win, my family and I enjoyed very much.

I agree, it is absolutely beautiful how God knows and provides. It is in His word that the revelation of who we are is revealed.

Thank you very much Miccah for stopping by and sharing. 🙂
