I know what God has called me to do, and I have started my journey, but I keep hitting the same wall.
Let me tell you a secret — we cannot do God’s work without God.
When I first sat down to start my blog, I was uncertain if I wanted to open up my life to strangers. I struggled with feelings of inadequacy. I was down right SCARED.
I knew that if I was going to start a blog I would have to depend on the Lord. I knew up front that it was going to be hard, some days I wouldn’t feel like writing, or life would happen, and it would be difficult to plan time to actually write.
I knew it would happen, however I hadn’t thought of my course of action when it did happen.
Since I began blogging, we’ve sold our home in Florida. We’ve moved twice, first outside of Atlanta and now north of Indianapolis ( I’ll be sharing how we got here in future posts).
I don’t have time to write, yet I believe deep in my heart this is what I should be doing. I’d start a post and not finish it. In my own craziness, I’d justify it… it’s just writer’s block.
Writer’s block sounds much better than, the reason you cannot complete a post is because you’re trying to do it in your own strength.
We cannot do God’s work without God
How many of us have set out to do what we believe God has called us to do, but we don’t depend on Him to actually get it done?
Time and time again I have tried and each time has been an epic fail.
I set out to write a blog post and these are the words that landed on the paper.
Forgive me Lord for attempting to accomplish my goals without You. How foolish of me, how arrogant of me to think that I can do anything without You. I need your help. Please help me. Help me to be reminded that I need You. Help me to be reminded that apart from You I can do nothing, however, I can do all things through You, who strengthen me. Empty me O Lord of all that I am and fill me with your Spirit. Amen.
Wherever you are in your journey, depend on the Lord. Trust him to bring you to your expected end. Ask Him for help, for wisdom and for guidance. You don’t have to go alone, He never intended that for you.
I would love to hear about your journey and pray with you along the way— send me a message or comment below.
In His name,
